2022 ODO Brochure is NOW AVAILABLE

The brochure for our February 26, 2022 Old Dominion Open is now available online. You can access it through the tab above or by CLICKING HERE.

Further information will be posted soon along with reminders for attendees and contest entrants.

Due to the anticipated increase of  models in the contest, please be aware that we are LIMITING the number of contest entries per modeler to TWELVE with no more that THREE per category.

We will also be limiting the space allocated for onsite completion of your entry forms, so please complete your forms before coming to the show. The entry forms in the brochure can be downloaded to your PC, printed, and saved.

August Spare Parts and Meeting

Our monthly meeting will be held tomorrow, Monday, August 9 at the Smoketree Community Building. Scott Wallace will continue his demonstration on soldering PE parts. Be sure to be there!

Next Meeting: August 9, 2021

Be sure to attend our next meeting on August 9 at the Smoketree Community Building. In addition to our usual fun and comraderie, Scott Wallace will present Part 2 of his demo on soldering PE:

  1. Brief overview from Part 1
  2. Introduction to soldering trechniques, tools, and materials
  3. Demonstrations of:
    1. Seams
    2. Tinning
Scott will be folding and soldering a 1/35 scale German MG34/42 ammo box (patronenkasten) for this purpose.

Time permitting, Scott will also discuss his current Hummel project (scratch-built interior) complete with engine and scratch-built ZF SSG77 APHON transmission.
