Wednesday, August 30, 2023: IPMS Richmond Annual Board Meeting at Deep Run Park Recreation Center, Springfield Room. All members in good standing (dues paid) may attend. Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, July 17, at the Deep Run Park Recreation Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. (hall opens at 6:00).
Ashley Abernathy will present a demo on cutting and using foam insulation board for model and diorama bases. We will also have our monthly "Show & Tell" and Mike Lyons will return with his hoard of raffle kits.

Our next meeting on Monday, June 5, will feature the return of our chapter's June contest--the same categories you all love and a chance for bragging rights until our Christmas Contest in December. No theme, no awards... just good ol' camaraderie. So finish-up those kits you purchased or won at the ODO and let's see the finished models! Be sure to print and LEGIBLY complete a registration form for EACH MODEL you're entering in the contest and bring them with you on Monday. The Center will open at 6:00 p.m. and model registration will begin at that time. Registration forms are on the last page of this month's "Spare Parts."

This will be an important meeting! We will finalize plans for this year's Old Dominion Open to be held on February 25th as well as voting on a venue change for future meetings. Please attend if at all possible!

In addition to our annual chapter dinner, the December meeting will feature our annual contest. The theme this year is "1972"--a model of anything in use or existence in 1972 is eligible. Theme entries will be entered in a separate category so if 1972 isn't your bag you can enter any of the other categories.
For your convenience, you can download the contest entry form here. Print as many as you need (one per model entered) and bring the completed forms with you to the meeting. This will greatly speed up the registration process and let you get to the food just that much earlier!

Spare Parts has a new look! Our long-time editor, Mark Elder, left our chapter in August and E. L. Motley has graciously agreed to take the reins as our new editor. You will find a new, cleaner format and all the news you have come to expect. Also, Spare Parts will now be published quarterly with monthly newsletters appearing in the intervening months.
